Hiring Should Ease Pressure, Not Increase It.
You just raised a round.
The first thing everyone tells you to do is hire.
That is also where things get risky.
Most founders are experts in product and vision, not building teams. Suddenly you are expected to hire fast, design roles, run a real hiring process, and do it without losing focus on the business or burning the runway.
That is the gap I fill.
I partner with founders after their first rounds of funding to bring clarity to people and talent decisions. Who to hire, when to hire, and how to build a team that can scale without everything running through the founder.
I help move hiring from gut instinct to intentional planning, put the right structure and process in place, and step in to execute when needed. The goal is simple. Reduce execution risk and help you grow without breaking what already works.

Welcome
About Me
I joined GoFundMe as employee 50 as the founders were navigating their Series A and second round of funding. I helped scale the company to over 900 people while remaining profitable.
I have also built my own business from the ground up and understand the entrepreneurial journey firsthand. Over the past year, I have partnered with nine founder-led startups navigating early growth and the pressure of getting early hires right.
After funding, founders are expected to hire quickly, make high-stakes people decisions, and design a company they have never built before, all while still running the business.
That pressure is real. And the cost of getting it wrong is high.
This is why I do this work.
I partner with first-time and early-stage founders to guide critical hiring and people strategy decisions, then help build the roles, systems, and operating foundation that allow the business to scale without breaking.

Trusted by growing companies
โKatie helped grow our workforce from a fledgling band of start up employees and transformed us into a world class and global workforce. Katie always hired folks who made an immediate impact to our teams and they in turn became long-standing employees. It is not hyperbole to suggest that most of GoFundMeโs achievements as a business came from the work Katie was doing for us.”
